When fitting shoes, most people select shoes that are too small or tight and are not aware that the problems they experience with their feet are directly related to small or tight fitting shoes. Remember when you were young and your mother or father would take you to the store to buy you some new shoes? A customer service representative would measure your feet using a Foot Measuring Device. They would then suggest that your parents buy you a pair of shoes one half size larger than your foot in order for you to "grow into the shoes". Well today the number of shoe stores that will take the time to measure your feet properly are very few. You can still find a Foot Measuring Device in any retail chain, but not many people know how to use it properly? Most people simply stand in the device, look at the length of their fee, and buy shoes that are the exact same size. While sizes do vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, most people tend to buy shoes that barely fit their feet. Did you know that your feet never stop changing? The width and length of your feet can change from year to year depending on activity, weight, and age. That is why it is so important to know the size of your feet accurately, and to buy shoes that are at least one-half size larger than your feet. A general "rule of thumb" is to allow one thumb's width space between the end of your longest toe and the end of the shoe., This will feel strange at first but your feet will be able to move though their proper mechanics and motion which will make a world of difference.
